Release Notes For TSR Utilities Version 3.5
October 1993
-------------------------------------------
This version is being released primarily to deal with changes that
have occurred in operating system software since version 3.4 of the
utilities was released in February 1992.
Changes in the TSR Utilities include:
- improved method for finding the first high memory block under QEMM
7.0 and recent versions of EMM386
- support for MS-DOS 6.0, especially in MARKNET and RELNET
- solutions for problems when QEMM 7.0's DOS-UP feature is used to
load COMMAND.COM into high memory
- solutions for problems when MARKNET is loaded high with QEMM or
386MAX
- special support for MSCDEX CD-ROMs in RELNET. The drive letters
used are recovered when MSCDEX is unloaded
If you are using QEMM 6.0 or 7.0, take note of the following
requirements:
- you must put DOS=UMB in your CONFIG.SYS file for the TSR Utilities
to work correctly with high memory
- if you are using QEMM 7.0 DOS-UP to load COMMAND.COM high, you
must always use the /U or /H command line options of RELEASE and
RELNET
If you are using EMM386 from MS-DOS or Windows, you must put DOS=UMB
in CONFIG.SYS for the TSR Utilities to work correctly with high
memory.
If you are using 386MAX 6.0 or 7.0, do *not* put DOS=UMB in
CONFIG.SYS.
For additional information, see TSR.DOC.
